The Department of Agricultural, Food and Nutritional Science (AFNS) at the University of Alberta is a unique department, the first of its kind in North America, reflecting the integration of many disciplines to meet growing demands for safe & nutritious foods; bioproducts; and healthy human environments. AFNS practices cutting-edge research to improve the health and quality of life, from primary production and biotechnology in plant & animal sciences, to innovative food and agri-food products, and human nutrition and wellness.
